Monday Morning Motivators!

2A! recently had the opportunity to work on a project that really made us flex our design muscles. We had to get very conceptual and play with designs for all sorts of characters, buildings, environmental assets, etc. We really got to play with the core foundation of basic design, which is shape and form of an element. In this case we needed to push the designs further into a fantasy-styled world. This challenged us in many ways and allowed us to draw things we might otherwise never draw. Having said that, we enjoyed the exercise so much that we've decided to keep the momentum going with our own weekly post titled, Monday Morning Motivators!

The basic idea of Monday Morning Motivators is to pick a theme -- preferably something we normally wouldn't draw -- and spend the first hour of each week sketching. The sketches can be very loose or super tight, but the point is to work out the weekend stiffness and draw something new.

This week's theme... Axes!

Fun Art Fridays: Wolverine Origins!

2A! introduces Fun Art Fridays!

So we've decided it would be cool to start something we'll be calling Fun Art Fridays. Basically that means every Friday the gang will be posting some of our own personal art, which can be fan art, concept art, sketches, doodles, scribbles, sneezes, whatever. It's basically an excuse to show off some of the art we create that's not necessarily "studio" work.

So with that said... here's the first post. A sketch of Wolverine I did in anticipation of the new movie's released. Drawn in Flash, in about 30 minutes. Hope you like!

2A! Launches A Blog

Drum roll please... 2A! has a brand new blog to keep you up-to-date about the latest projects we’ve got going on!

With over 8 years in the business as an animation studio, we have a ton of stuff to talk about, including both current and past projects. We’ll share videos, behind-the-scenes production art, sketchbook work, original creator-owned properties and more. The 2A! blog will keep you posted on all our projects, big and small, so sign up to learn about them all (wow, we just rhymed ;). Plus, we love to hear from visitors to our site and hope to read your comments too. And since we’re an animation studio, you can bet there’ll be more pictures than words at times… but isn’t that why you’re here?

Now, let’s get on with the posts!
